Time At Hogchester Arts
I have had the most magic time in ancient Dorset in the inspiring studio of Chantal Powell on Hogchester Farm - joined by artist Karen David …. Wish I could stay forever! Elvis and Peter the goat gods - feeding the chickens and henpecked cock Oswald! Valentina the horse - and all the other beautiful animals and people!!
MOONS - red and full, eggs, fossils, circles, getting lost, cups of tea and buttered current bread, reading Cowper Powys that’s set in this very landscape - with its cuckoo flowers and scummy ponds and pre-Roman Jurassic energies…
It was wonderful to be introduced to marbling by Karen who gave Chantal and myself a wonderful workshop … I loved when the inks and medium got murkier and wilder —- faces and bodies started twisting and appearing! It made a great medium to explore the intersection of random/ intuition and control/storytelling
