The Yurt

Summer residencies use the Yurt.

The Yurt is a short walk from the studio and has a single bed and a comfortable sofa.  Duvet, sheets and pillows are provide. We have recently installed an electrical point (for phone charging and small heater) and lighting but there are still candles and a log burning stove for a more poetic experience.

There is access to a private annex kitchen in the nearby farmhouse which is equipped with a small table top electric cooker, fridge, sink, electric kettle and toaster.  Adjacent to the annex there is a shower room with toilet and sink.

Pygmy goats often visit in the morning and chickens are very nearby so do bring earplugs for the early morning cockerel call! Please be aware that the yurt is in a very natural environment and spiders gravitate to the yurt but do keep to themselves.

The Cottage

January/February and November residencies are offered the use of the holiday cottage at Hogchester. It is a two-bedroom cottage (one room with king-size bed, one room with two single beds) with bathroom, lounge, and kitchen diner (with Aga). These residency periods, and the accommodation, will be shared with one other (or occasionally two other) selected artist(s).
