Unfortunately due to personal circumstances we had to cancel the open call for 2022.
The eight residencies that will take place in 2022 will be on an invite basis and the next open call (for 2023 placements) will take place in September 2022 .

APPLICATION PROCESS
There is an annual Open Call made each August for residency placements in the following year.
We accept digital applications only. The application form will be available to download via this page during the Open Call period . The application form requests a short proposal outlining interests and intentions for working at Hogchester, a CV, artist statement, and examples of current work.
In addition to the Open Call, two placements are made by personal invite.
FURTHER DETAILS
The Residency Comprises

Free accommodation on the Hogchester site in either Hogchester Cottage or The Stable/Yurt for up to two weeks (minimum one week).

24 hour access to the Hogchester Art Studio, alongside one other resident artist (at certain times of the year) and on site artist Chantal Powell.

24 hour access to the 75 acre private conservation site.

Food and transport are not included. Artists have access to studio equipment but are to provide their own materials.
Residency Requirements

The artist will reside on site at Hogchester for the duration of their residency.

In accepting a residency placement the artist agrees to loan work for exhibition (if applicable)

Resident artists consent to have a profile page on the Hogchester Arts website and agree to provide a summary of their time at Hogchester for the page. Residency photo documentation will be shared via social media and in the exhibition.
Selection and Eligibility

Contemporary visual artists working in all disciplines may apply.

Artists producing high quality work that responds to Hogchester (and/or its surrounding area) will be prioritised.

There is currently no fee to submit to the open call.
