"Across a twenty-year practice, Stein has developed an expansive body of conceptual work rooted in painting which embraces performance, film, writing and collaborative projects. Building upon rich painterly traditions and contemporary culture, Stein creates a world of stories. Narratives and imagery, which appear in her work, are drawn from Stein's study of psychoanalysis, feminist theory, esoteric histories, and personal experience."
(Excerpt about Stein's work from Hales Gallery).
Herwork has been shown in recent years at Spike Island, Bristol, De La Warr pavilion Bexhill, Kunsthaus Zurich, Hales Gallery London, Galerie Gregor Staiger Milan, Casa Rusca Locarno, Levy Gorvy Dayan London. She is mother to two girls and is currently writing her first novel.

Time At Hogchester Arts
Staying at Hogchester unburdened me of a huge amount of stress and triggered a creative period.
I worked on an early draft of my novel in solitude but still managed to stomp out into nature twice a day to get the air and cake my feet in mud.
In the evenings Grant and I put the world to rights and had a good laugh and some lovely food. It was wonderful to work alongside Grant and Chantal.
Hogchester is such a beautiful farm and the whole experience really did me the world of good. Thank you!
